Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A helicopter hovering over a popular southern California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Footage posted online show the helicopter commencing to spiral over the beach then plunging in the direction of the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters stated five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the road were hurt. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
